At Cornwall Beetles we run breeding projects to increase the number of wild UK beetles. With support from local landowners and agencies we hope to counter the decline in British insect populations.

To donate to our current or future conservation projects please donate here. All donations go towards the cost of food, heating, housing and release.

Cetonia aurata

These are one of the first UK native species that we have bred successfully. Our aim for these is to breed them and release them across permitted sites in Cornwall and Devon so their numbers can rise.

Lesser stag beetles are fantastic beetles that are common in some parts of the UK but rarely seen in others. They live in rotten decidous trees such as oak, but can be raised in captivity with flake soil or kinshi.
