The hercules beetle is one of natures true monsters. Male Hercules beetles have been known to grow to an incredible 18cm long. This particular species is usually slightly shorter than the record breaking Dynastes hercules hercules but can still reach impressive sizes.

Males have lovely variation on their elytra, some are more orange whilst others can be grey or (in rare cases) slightly blue.

Larvae feed on flake soil or black soil and take 18-36 months to reach adulthood.
